In the”a tale of two cities”, she is the main character to organize the revolution. She records the information though the braid, and lead the public join in the revolution. She know how to let the public join in the revolution, she is a part of them. So she can make the group very united. She can understand the angry of the people. In the revolution time she can organize the people to the ground very quickly. In fact, that is very difficult to let the people to join in the revolution, the public have undergone the stress and insult that from the French aristocracy too long, and they do not know how to revolt. The public have become the labor and no confidence to beat the aristocracy. The Madame Defarge knows how to arouse the people’s angry and chases the authorities that belong to the normal citizen. So the Madame Defarge is a very good leader, she can wake up the soul of public and attack the Bastille. And the Madame Defarge led the normal citizens to get the victory in the revolution, although the group only is organized by the farmer and labor.

The Madame Defarge has a very miserable and sad experience in her life. She burned in a poor farmer family. Her sister was persecuted by the Evrèmondes. She hates the all of aristocracy. She think this country (French) controlled by the aristocracy and she do not have any authority as a normal citizen. Her family is broken because of the Evrèmondes. A little child lives in the dark time without any help and care that is very difficult. She had undergone so much difficult life in her childhood. We can image the bad life in her childhood. Hungry, poor and insult around the little girl. There are too many sad, pains and angry in her heart. So she kill the aristocracy by very aridity way and she wants kill all of the Evrèmondes family, even the little child. The author use this action can express the Madame Defarge is a very sad woman, the sad experience cause her to be crazy. Her angry make she only want to revenge, she live in the hatred until died. She never feels what the happiness is. In finally, these pains take her to the hell. So she is a very miserable person in the book.

In the “A tale of two cities”, the Madame Defarge is a very smart women. She makes a big devotion for the French revolution. She uses the braid to make the code and help the prater know the name of the spies. I think that is a very smart way to transfer the information to others. In the normal days, she only stays in the wine shop. She knows how to protect herself and help the revolution get the victory. So she always braid, her brain is so actively. When she fined the chance to happen the revolution, she will lead the public to join in the revolution. So she can know the situation though the current case. That is very difficult as a woman. The braid records the crime of the reactionary aristocracy. And she also uses her brain to find the prison of Doctor, and find the blood paper that written by the Doctor. The blood paper makes a big influence to help Madame Defarge to kill Charles. The two actions describe the Madame Defarge as a smart woman. And the smart woman (Madame Defarge) is a main clue of the book and makes the book more interesting.

In this book, the Madame Defarge is a very complete character. She has a sad destiny, that cause the Madame Defarge become a malicious woman. There are full of revenge in her life, she wants to kill all of the Evrèmondes family. In the book, her actions express she is a very cruel. When she capture the Bastille and catch the aristocracies, she will torment these aristocracies and use the axe to cut the aristocracies’ head to announce the public that they get the victory of the revolution. She want to kill all of the Evrèmondes family, so she go to the prison of the Doctor and find out the blood paper. In finally, she even want to kill the Lucie and little Lucie. She wants to give vent to her angry and pains though kill others. She just a crazy woman that want to kill. There are only hatred in her heart, that cause she is so fierce and malicious. And the author is not agree with these actions, the Dickens think the human should learn how to excuse others and tolerant, the revenge can not get the real success. So, in finally the Madame Defarge killed by herself.
